ESSAC Meetings |

ESSAC delegates meet twice a year for at least 2 full days.
Meeting issues are very various
dealing with discussions and updates about
- the Lead Agencies, the Implementing Organizations (IO),
the different Science and Advisory Structure (SAS) panels and the Operation Task Force (OTF),
the ECORD Managing Agency (EMA), the ECORD Council,
the ECORD Science Operator (ESO), ESSAC and the ESSAC Office, as well as National Offices issues.
- nominations and staffing issues on current expeditions
- education and outreach issues (E&O) such as the ECORD Summer Schools,
the ECORD Scholarships, the Distinguished Lecturer Programme,
the ECORD Newsletter or the ECORD Information Database.
- Workshops and conferences intiated by IODP, ECORD (e.g. the EuroForum Conference), ESF (Magellan workshops) and other research entities and communities
Since the 9th ESSAC Meeting in Grenada, Spain, ECORD scientists are invited to report about their expedition experiences
or to present their IODP research proposals.
After each meeting a synthesis report - the ESSAC minutes - is written and sent to every country delegate for review and approval.
