Distinguished Lecturer Programme
Since 2007 ECORD is sponsoring a Distinguished Lecturer Programme designed to bring
the exciting scientific discoveries of the IODP to the geosciences community in ECORD and,
potentially, other non-ECORD European countries. ESSAC selects three Distinguished Lecturers per series,
one in each of the three main thematic areas of IODP research.
ECORD invites you to Host a Lecture 2010/2012
Call to host a DLP pdf
Applications to host a Distinguished Lecturer are accepted from any college,
university, or nonprofit organization in ECORD member countries
and non-ECORD European countries.
Apply by email to essac.office@awi.de
and include the name, address, telephone number and email of a contact person
Applications should to be coordinated with other members of the applying department.
Listing more than one choice of speaker provides more flexibility in scheduling
and increases your institution's chance of hosting a lecture.

Benthic archaea - the unseen majority with importance to the global carbon cycle revealed by IODP drilling
